Hey, Welcome to Girl About Europe
My name is Sarah an I’m a York based travel blogger on a mission to see the world but more importantly to see it differently.
I decided I wanted my blog to be more than just a place to look up ‘how to guides’ but a place to share with you honest travel experiences, short stories and to connect on a real level.
On my blog you will find posts about life as a part time backpacker, how to actually travel on the cheap and how to adapt a minimalist approach to life.
I aim to inspire by any means personally, whether it’s recommending my favourite books or cheering you on as you finally snatch that bargain plane ticket.
I’m not trying to sell you a guide on how to quit your job and travel the world but I am here to keep it honest and relatable.
But most importantly support you as fellow bloggers and readers.
So a wee bit about my life,
My life isn’t glamorous. I grew up in a run down ex-mining town, dropped out of college twice (but I did get my diploma 3rd time round) and I’m lucky to have £80 left at the end of the month.
I ditched life on-board a cruise ship, dabbled in aviation and can fit my life into a 25L backpack.
It took me years to bag a job in the travel industry and I’m looking forward to wherever this life journey takes me next.
Lastly I hope you decide to stick around and follow along on this adventure with me. I’d love to get to know you.
If so then feel free to hit me up at
